Ef 12/4
My dad and I went to EF yesterday. Fished from 11 to 5. Caught almost 60 fish between us, all crappie except 2 small hybrid and a gill. Mix of whites and blacks.
Never thought I'd catch that many crappie in December at EF but it was 60 degrees so I had to get out. It was a good day to be out. A little rain and the wind picked up mid afternoon. We fished with double minnow rigs, starting in 12-15' water where we caught a few but we moved out to 20-25' water and caught many of them nearly on the bottom. Towards late afternoon, that bite died so we just moved back to 12-15' and found them there, catching them half way down. The fish were definetly a bit slower than they were a month ago. More than a few times, I just pulled up the tip and felt the dead weight, no other indication. Water temp was still 50 degrees.
That's probably it for December for me but looking forward to January if we get a warm spell.
Oh yeah - most were decent but not great size. Right around that 9" mark. Caught a few smaller, but no dinks. Caught 3-4 over 10 and one that was 11. My dad did catch a 13" white crappie in early June there. I like EF because the crappie are so plentiful but I fished there many times this past year and - despite the 13" I just mentioned - it seems like you'd have to go elsewhere to find really nice ones. All in all, it's a really nice crappie lake.

Nice report and thanks for posting. Good to see the temps are still holding up. I'm hoping to get out for a few days yet this year.
Crazy weather we have coming in later today...I hate snow, I hate snow, I hate snow.
