I Apologize

for scaring CF, CG, UTR & Boscoe so bad that they didn't come to the bash.:) We all had a great time. Gene & Elaine, Roy & Dell and Doris & I stayed in one of the State Park cabins Thursday & Friday. We missed Ron & Ronnie & Vic & Eileen not being with us this time. We got to see a bear cub and it's huge mama close to the cabin.

Had a great time fishing with Gene again. Every time we go I learn something new and it is not only about fishing. Even at my age, I have learned a lot of what life is all about from Gene & Elaine. Can't wait to go again.

It was good to see some old friends again and meet some new folks for the first time.

I guess it is time to put my horse, buggy, & boat up and get them ready for the next trip. It surely was hard pulling up hill all the way home.

Caught most all fish (31) on Gene's bait but I caught one fish(the big one) on a Lake Fork-Bar Fish color.

It was a good day. Our fishing stunk even though we marked tons of fish. It was good to see everyone. I know we give you older guys a hard time, and we appreciate you letting us mouth off. The meeting in the parking lots was the best part of my day. Reminds me that all that crap on the evening news is not the real world. The real world is good people...some older, some younger. Some that put on a uniform for this country before and during my spell as a spoiled brat little kid. Some who have a lifetime of fishing knowledge and don't mind sharing. Wives hanging out with their husbands, in the cold, while they fishing lies are told. Some with such a strong will and heart, that they get up, and out, and go and do, even though it's uncomfortable. Members of the club who smile and shake hands with the new folks like they are old friends. Inviting a stranger with a bass boat to hang with us. A red-bearded guy who opens his hands holding a grub mold and injector and says "These were PanMan's. I'd like for you to have them. I'll teach you how do use them." To be blessed with family support so we can go play fishing games. Blessed that each of us can afford the gas in the truck and we had the day off. A dude with an internet site who sends gifts to the group just because. A buddy who rings your cell phone and invites you to his brush pile.

Another set of hand shakes and sincere wishes for a safe trip home. Yea......we got it good.
