clay county fishing
New Guy here.
anyone know of good spots to try in doctors lake or surrounding waters to catch crappie?
(I live in green cove springs)
I have no boat as of yet, but am working on it.
I am just trying to catch my first crappie & learn my area before my son gets old enough to fish. He is two & I want to be ready to teach him when the time comes. As I read on this forum I am realizing this is not an overnight thing to master,& I need help.
I'm not asking for you're super secret honey hole as I know those are well guarded secrets, I just want to get on some fish.
thanks y'all.

Billferd, If I was from that part of Florida, I would sure do what I could to help you out. Unfortunatly I'm at the other end of I-10 from you out here at exit 56. Good luck on finding them crappie over there though. Maybe one or more of the members over in that area can pick up on this and help you out. Meantime, just keep plugging away sir and they will come. Semper Fi, and tight lines.

Don't know the area....wish I could help. Hit up a bait shop or two. Also, hang around the the box stores fishing department.... it's easy to strike up a conversation about fishing and get some good info. Good luck!

It's hard to catch them with a boat a lot of times, without one it will be even harder. Not etrying to discourage you. You can rent a little John boat at Whiteys fish camp for pretty cheap and fish up in Swimming Pen creek and you may catch a few. Message me for info on specific bodies of water if you have any questions. Have a good one.
