I see a lots of gar while fishing for crappie in shallow waters.

I think the gar are just in there with them looking for something to eat
Last time I caught a garfish I also caught two different strains of staph under a finger nail and almost lost my finger.

Also I think young crappie at at risk around gar but I have caught a lot of crappie and gar from the same area before. This has happened mainly in ox bow lakes in warm weather.
Gars are good indicators. If I fish a cut and don't get a bite in a normal spot AND gars are always Rollin on THE SURFACE real often, I consider it dead water and leave. Not worth the time.
