Scott, what rod do you use for pushing cranks? I presently use two 6ft 6in Ugly Sticks (med action) and use 3oz weights most of the time. I was contemplating buying a couple of the 7ft new GX2 ugly sticks and was wondering if it would be better to stick with med action or go to med heavy. Have you used the BnM PST rods to push cranks? That is another option since I use a lot of them for pulling cranks. I generally pull four and push two baits at the same time.
Any fairly stiff rod will work for pushing. Currently I'm using two 8 ft Okuma trolling rods that are as stiff as a broomstick. I broke another PST tip today reeling in a 6 inch crappie. I'm keeping B and M in business buying rod tips.

I broke it while reeling in a small throwback crappie. I didn't yank on it, just had a small load on it. I've been getting my replacement tips from Grizzly Jig. This rod just had a defect.Quote:
