Just read in the paper that the sale of Ameren powerplants could be in jeporday if the state dosent allow them to put off some upgrades that are suppose to be done. It said that if could close a plant or maybe more possibly and that includes coffeen and newton.
I think Coffeen should be OK. They just completed work on their scrubbers not too long ago. Newton shut the scrubber project down midway through, so its not completed. Joppa will close for sure as it has no scrubber and no plans to install any. I lost my job there last year due to several reasons but a lot of crap has been dumped on coal plants all over the country.
That is one thing Obama kept his word about. He said he would get rid of Coal fired plants, he is off and running with that.
Enough change for the Obama supporters yet?
