Any suggestions for what baits to have for Lake Greeson? I am very new to artificial lure fishing for crappie, and would appreciate any suggestions as to what baits to have for fishing there.

The store at Kirby Landing has been stocking several of the colors that are effective for us. Chartreuse is a good place to start. Gray and White jigs are also good. One of our favorites has a White head, Red threads on the neck and a Chartreuse tail. Gray/Silver/Gray has been good lately and one of the old reliable jigs has a Gray head and tail with Red threads on the neck.
If you prefer to cast and retrieve, Kalin’s Grubs on a plain leadhead work well. Tennessee Shad and Lemon Meringue are both good colors. You might want to have some ¼-ounce Kastmaster Spoons handy if you want something to take out the Green Carp when they start breaking around your boat. The spoons are also good for vertical jigging if some Whites or Stripers start hanging around.
Are most of those baits available at the Kirby store? If so I would rather get them from local folks than from mega stores even if they are a little more expensive. Thanks a lot for your information. I am looking forward to meeting you and all the Ark. guys at CC.
Yes, the live bait and the jigs can be purchased at the Kirby Marina or at other stores in the local area.Quote:

If you don't have roadrunners, a regular jig with an L-shaped spinner like are on beetle spins work well too, cast to structure and slowly retrieve, with a small jerk occasionally. They can't resist it. Good luck, hope to see you at crappie camp.
