I am thinking about relocating from the Texoma area to the northern part of the state. I am thinking in or around Tulsa. I am just curious if anyone knows of any little hidden gems in the Tulsa area for bank/dock fishing and such. I am not sure I trust my son with a boat yet and would like to keep him fishing when I am in Alaska. If you dont want to give out your secrets I understand.

Ralph, There are just way to many answers to post in one response but Ft. Gibson has a fishing dock at Seq. Bay headed towards Okay OK. Keystone has a dock at Mannford, can't recall the creek but if you head for Mannford it's to the south before you cross the bridge. There are several feeder creeks and oxbows on the Verdigree that are fishable by bank. MOre will chime in but this is a quick response. Now, what about docks on Texoma? the wife and I would like to find one on the OK side we could maybe cruise down there and make it a weekend. Know of any? Thaking in advance for any info......
Ralph, the list of lakes with in a hour drive of Tulsa area are: Oologah, Skiatook, Keystone, Ft.Gibson, Eufaula, Navigation Channel, Hudson, Spavinaw, etc. All of these lakes have big crappie in them, and all are good at different times of the year. EB
Thanks for the responses. As for what there is on Texoma I have never found a fishing dock that was available to the public that has crappie consistently. There is brush around the cleaning station at Lakeside but you have to fight off the 8 inch catfish but I have caught a few there. The next best would be the docks at soldier creek if you were to stay there you can get access and if you find a slip with brush you can catch a few.

The Arkansas River runs through Tulsa. There are people that fish the banks from city parks. Don't the quality of fish or water.

Tulsa Urban Fisheries
Tulsa urban ponds and streams appeal to different people for a variety of reasons: They offer tranquility in an otherwise hectic environment, a time to enjoy the outdoors, and the opportunity to observe natural fauna that are no longer available in most modern urban environments. A primary attraction to Tulsa ponds, tourists and residents alike, is the opportunity to catch fish by angling.
This guide is a compilation of the record of the fishes in the Tulsa urban area resulting from an intensive survey carried out between 1991 and 2004. The primary purpose of this survey was to determine which species are found in this urban area, and if new species are moving into the Tulsa area. In all, over 35 sites were sampled throughout the Tulsa, Oklahoma urban area.

Thanks Bobo. That did help a lot. I was surprised that only one of the lakes lists crappie. I will be checking it out if I go that way. I will also have to stop by and check out you shop.

Sounds great. Keep in mind, a lot of these little ponds in the parks in Tulsa are also stocked. The city keeps them pretty stocked because they do the "Teach a Kid to Fish" clinics at them. Also, not to far from Tulsa is Pretty Water lake that is stocked with about 2000 pounds of trout a month during the season. They also keep hybrid blue gills in there as well as Cats. There are also some crappie in there.Quote:
