Burnt Cane
Used to be the best. Nice numbers of big crappie. Could start on some deep cover and by the time I had hit 5-6 spots would have a nice limit. It flooded one winter and has never returned to form. I was catching loads in November, took off for duck season and the floods came. Spring I went back and it is a different lake. I hit my sunken cover and it is still there but the fish have left. Used to see 75-100 boats. today there were 4. 3 bass fishermen and me. slight stain but fishable. results-2 bass on jigs and one dinky little crappie. 1 other that knew where the limb to hang me up was located. Has anybody done any good there lately??? Needed to run my new ouytboard anyway but sure wanted to relive old times there but no avail.

Haven't been down there in 4 or so years. Was thinking about going down there this coming weekend. Glad I saw your post first, guess I will either go to the River or down to Monterey.

Heard black river from pokey north was putting out some nice ones. Rain may change that.

What you said is true Gomer. I went there in the spring and caught 5. 2 years ago it was a hidden honey hole. Just another NEA oxbow gone south.
