Friday Morning Crappie
Attachment 140330
Lake X decided to give me a dozen crappie this morning. They ranged from 9.5 to 11.5 inches. Nothing huge, just eaters. I caught all but one of them by 8:30am. It took me another hour and a half to catch one more. Then I called it quits. The bite was better than in was last week. I took CPs advice and tiped a jig with a minnow and it worked. This time, when I got a bite, I could actually tell. Although I am happy catching any fish, I really wish that I could get into some of the monsters that we see in our samples.

Like these two slabs. Don't worry, they are back in the lake ready for a more expereinced angler to catch and eat.

Great job D10! We got skunked pond hopping last night. No minnows though. We may have to try that one. We just fished from about 8 to 11...but got skunked...I mean not even a bite.

I love that the man who manages our lake is out there chasing the very fish he manages with us. Thanks Matt and good catch.

We was on the east side of the lake X having the same luck, caught 14 by 8am and they vamoosed. Would not bite a jig but they'd hammer a beetlespin with a big curly tail.
