trimming the ducer
i epoxyed the ducer to the hull (shoot thru) .after that i had to change my live well pump , everything came out ok but the new pump just squeeked by going in......can i trim the the top the ducer that pivots.? (if it where on transom) so i can make alittle more room if i had to take out the pump again. or would mess with the signel?

I don't see any problem with that as long as you don't cut into the main body of the transducer. If by chance you cut too deep and see any opening where water might enter the transducer pod, seal it with epoxy. Don't use silicon sealer because any gas that might spill into the under floor area will likely degrade the silicon.
Be gentle in cutting (no hammer and chisel)

Mr gammon is right.....all the electronics are under the cable, and it enters the ducer on the top of the molding....not near the neck/pivot. I can verify this having broken off enough of those necks to know there is nothing in there that affects the operation of the ducer. Just make sure you don't nick the cable while you are in there
