I have a Lowrance HDI Elite7. I like the unit seems easy enough to use, but I am new to the GPS world. How do I go back to a waypoint after I mark it??

I would think the "easiest" way would be to open up the whole screen as the map and head towards whatever waypoint you want to fish. As you get closer to that spot, zoom the map to a closer & closer down view until you reach the closest distance setting. Then line up the boat icon with the waypoint icon & slowly move forward until you're about to reach the spot, then switch to split screen (or sonar) until you start seeing the cover that you marked.
Then you can simply use the sonar screen to stay on the spot, or drop marker buoys well off to the side(s) of the cover.

If you are returning to a WP that you maked on a previous trip and it is too far away to show up on your screen you can go to the menu settings for the GPS and call up waupoints and select "Go to" and the GPS will direct you to the WP. Also if you have "tracks" on you can retrace your track to the WP. Just play around with it and you will get the hang of it.
One thing I learned the hard way. Be sure to save your WPs to an SD card before you do any updates to the unit. I lost all mine by not doing this. :banghead
Thanks guys, that's kinda what I been doin. I know my hand held will show an arrow to a waypoint. I didn't know if the compass page would do that or not.
If the Elite has a heading extension that will help too.
