Well, we're leaving in the morning for Barkley!!

We're pretty fired up because we're are buying a brand new puppy from Whiskers. My five year old is excited to say the least. Bringing my panfish poles AND catfish poles. I figured we're going to try for crappie, redear and maybe some blue cats if time permits.

We're going to be single poling it on the crappie, simply dunking minnows or tipped jigs...anyone got any general ideas of where they're holding now? I wonder if I could fish the stake beds and catch a few? I'm a mediocre crappie fisherman, tips greatly appreciated.

Looks like Sunday will be a washout down there, I'll cook chili and we'll watch football I guess.

I don't have any good pics to show off, just a bunch of fiddlers we've caught. Tried pretty hard for bluegill and redear today with zero success. I tried the big flat next to Champion Spring Cove which runs right by the main channel for redear, tried Carmack Bay and Crab Creek for bluegill and redear too and caught a bunch of catfish and small stripers. Committing to crappie starting tomorrow morning, although not hearing of anybody else catching many crappie either.
