Idea for lead
Most of us that pour need lead all the time. One of the things that I do is raid the trash containers of the local boat launches. I collect the Aluminium cans and then trade them at the scrap yard for lead. I haven't paid for lead in almost 10 years. Right now I have 4 -55 gallon bags full of cans. Shortly I will be going to the scrap yard to make the trade. Three bags should be 20 lbs. of lead. That is alot of heads. Sunday nights and Monday mornings are my best hauls. 4 th of July is always a red letter day for a old can picker like me. I do hit the ditches some time but if you are a southern boy like me WATCH OUT FOR SNAKES.
If you are going to do this for your safety wear a good pair of gloves leather is preferred. Crush the cans flat and you can get a bunch in to a 55 gallon garbage bag.

as a young'un I grew up in the desert out west. You could find me picken up cans, and soda bottles just about every day. Didn't get much for them back then, but it put some change in the pockets. Found a few diamond backs too. Snakes, love too hate them....

I remember picking up coke bottles and trading them in for bb's at our little neighbor hood store. Simplier times for sure

Heck coke (soda pop) bottles use to be worth something.

Good idea Redman, never thought of it.

Very good idea for trading :) While in middle school my buddy and I would pick up bottles to turn in, and there was a reloader that would give us .01 for each shotgun shell, we cleaned every field there was around our town of shotgun shells!! :ThumbsUp
