I saw a boat at MCC Big Mama with a foot control TM on the front deck, and a Terrova mounted on the back beside the main propulsion unit, like a kicker. First time I ever saw such. I understand the "kicker" concept of this setup, but why would you use a Terrova in the back and foot control up front? If this was your boat, I would be interested in why you set it up like this. If anybody else can explain what is going on here, feel free to enlighten me!
My guess and this is just a guess is that they way to much money in the first place. and second they use the terrova just for trolling and want the foot control for brush piles, green carp fishing. they like the response of the foot control but the ease of the terrova
I mounted that for him. It is a great idea and he says it works like a charm. Many uses for it and can control it from the front. U can stay parallel to a drop off even in the wind, slow troll using the back for power and front to guide, get too far over a brush pile and use the back to get u off and lessen the disturbance of the hole, turn it around and use as a drift sock, etc,,, I don't remember, but there was more... Also it's mounted on a plate where it can be taken off and put on the front for things like cranking, etc...
Not my boat but the initial idea was complete boat control say in the wind. Say you are fishing a stump or top and the wind wants to blow the back of the boat around on you pushing you into the trees or stumps or whatever. Or you just want to keep the boat at a perticular orientation while fishing a spot. Just engage the rear TM by remote and you will not go anywhere.

I can see where it could be useful. Course, if you are fishing a stump and the wind is pushing your tail around, a long rope and a chunk of concrete can keep you there also.... Hehe! Lots of $$$$$. To rich for me!
It was probably cheaper and more useful than a Power Pole, and a Power Pole is as handy as a shirt pocket.

Remote boat control most guides have them that take clients to vertical fish. Control both ends of the boat in one location.
That was on Terry Stewart's Ranger. And when I saw him the head of the rear mounted Terrova was pointing rearward in a 20 mph north wind. In other words he was using it to slow his drift instead of drift socks.
