Josh, it depends on what your trying to build. Netcraft and Barlowboth I think carry a small hand bender just a small round piece of aluminum with a attachment to bend the wire. I made a jig once out of 2 finishing nails in piece of oak to make R bends in spinner bait wire. I also took a old pair of needle nose pliers and ground about 1/2 in back from tip round by rotating on grinder to twist eyes in spinnerbait wire.
Their are a lot of folks on Crappie .com that have forgetten more than we will ever know about lure making.We have tried a lot of wire benders and made some.I am a tight wad when it comes to spending my money. The Twisteck from Barlows are pricy but well worth the money in our book!!! this bender was sugested by a friend and well worth the money they even have a video. Just out two cents hope this helps!!
I completely under stand on the tight wad part I try and make all of the stuff I can and since I work in a sheet metal shop I thought there has got to be some way of making a nice wire bender with all of these fancy machines that I get to useQuote:
