Brownells should carry most anything you would need. First time I have ever heard of one of those breaking. I would look up a local gunsmith and see what he says, short of that I would speak with the folks at the Springfield, MO Bass pro shop, or Cabela's close to you for direction to the 'smith you need. Return to Remington is an option but that must be done by an FFL holder because the part you need replaced is connected to the receiver which carries the serial number. Pawn and gun shops have one of these and for a nominal fee, which changes from shop to shop. When returning to Remington, or to anyone for that matter, the barrel isn't needed, making shipping that much easier. Good luck with it, keep us posted.
That's the first time I've ever heard of that. I have a couple of super mags and a couple of 3" models. Never had that problem.
I would definitely call Remington and talk to a customer service rep about it.
Shipping guns for repair does not require an FFL dealer. There is no transfer of ownership and the BATF specifically states that guns shipped for repair do not need to go through a dealer. On I'm going to guess that the magazine tube is soldered/silvered to the receiver so it won't just unscrew and unless you have a way to break all of that up without damaging the firearm, it will probably be best to take it to a local gunsmith.
thanks guys
I ordered it today from mid south amo, Brownell had them on back order.
Rick's place just off the Kerr Rd exit. He's pretty good, and won't bend you over.
