Brush Pile Coordinates on Arkansas Lakes
The AGFC has been developing an interactive map on the website AGFC GIS Mapper 2.0. To find the coordinates of brush piles that the AGFC was involved in placing, follow these steps:
1) go to AGFC GIS Mapper 2.0
2) zoom in to what ever lake you are interested in
3) click on the hammer symbol at the top of the map "miscellanious tools"
4) click on GPS/GPX communicator
5) if you use a Garmin GPS skip to 6a, to upload a .gpx file to a mapping program such as Mapsource, skip to 6b
6a) click detect GPS and follow the instructions
6b) to the right of the GPX file, click the piece of paper with a blue arrow
7b) save this file to your computer
8b) open this file with a mapping program such as Mapsource
I hope this is useful to yall. I have been after the GIS department to come up with a more user friendly way to download coordinates onto fish finders and GPS units. They are still looking into it. If you have any problems, let me know and I will try to walk you through it. Thanks.
