Cmc pt-35
Later this week I'm going to attempt to install my new CMC PT-35 on my 1442 F&F boat. My boat has a cut down transom for my short shaft 25hp Etec. I guess I'm looking for any pointers or advice from the guys on here who have installed a cmc on their rig. Shortcuts or helpful tips will be much appreciated. Thanks guys.:popcorn

I put one on my previous boat with a 35 Johnson. I picked up about 3 to 5 MPH by being able to trim it out but also because it puts the motor back a few inches from the transom which increases the bite of the prop. You can cheat a little on the alignment of the cavitation plate to the bottom of the boat. Because it is set back from the tramsom you can move the motor up maybe an inch or two from where you would have placed it because of the extra bite the prop gets from being back away from the transom.
I did not realize I could have done that and I still got a good bit more speed.
I really liked the unit, it is heavy duty and I enjoyed not having to run to the back to move the motor up and down.

Thank you. The main reason I'm installing the cmc is b/c my motor did not come with an electric trim & I'm tired of fighting this motor when I'm in shallow water but a little extra speed wouldn't hurt either.

That is why I added mine. The extra MPH was an added bonus I did not expect.

One thing I did since I had a separate switch for the CMC, my boat was only a 14 ft side console so I put the switch on top of the console so I could reach it from the front seat as well as the console. Saved me getting up to go back and raise the motor if I got into shallow or weedy areas.
Don't know if yours is set up like that but it made it handy to be able to operate from either seat.
