Why do we even have a West Tennessee Board if no one is going to post or get involved? Am I missing something? or did everyone move to Mississippi?
West TN folks don't post like the MS board. This forum is West TN Crappie Club (WTCC) and most posts are informational about upcoming tourneys/club functions, and results. We don't have any tourneys in July or August so not much info to post. We have a tourney coming up in mid-Sept at Beech Bend and our end of year Classic in October. Except for the Classic, all tourneys are open to anyone. WTCC was formed to bring together folks that liked to crappie fish and get to know others with similar interest. We encourage anyone who would like to meet/fish with other West TN folks to come join us. So far this year, we've had +50 different folks fish with us and it's been nice meeting new folks. Let me know if you want more info about WTCC.
Thanks for the invite, when are where do you meet?
When we started the club, we met once each month. Now, we only meet 2-3 times per year. Typically, our meetings are at Gander Mountain in Jackson, TN. Our end of year Classic/Tournament is in October. We will probably meet between now and then. If we schedule a meeting, it will be posted here and we would be glad to have anyone interested in learning more about WTCC to join us. Hope to see you soon.
Do yall ever fish anywhere near Memphis? I live near Memphis and the only good places to fish for Crappie around here that I have found are in............Mississippi.
When the club started about 4 years ago, we primarily fished KY Lake. Since there are other good lakes in West TN, we expanded the core group of lakes and now have 2 tournaments at each of these 4 lakes - KY Lake, Pickwick, Reelfoot, and Beech River/KY Lake - near Decaturville, TN. Obviousy, best lakes around Memphis are the MS lakes and they are hard to beat. I live outside of Memphis as well and occasionally fish the MS lakes and fish with the West TN Crappie Club for some of the tourneys. The WTCC tourneys are friendly competition and good folks involved. Be glad to have you come fish with us. Let me know if you need more info.
