Shelbyville white bass?
Wife and I were hoping to get down to Bo woods for our annual camping and fishing trip around august 15 We usually do this trip to put a few fish in the freezer. Is anyone catching any white bass? Is the lake level stabilizing and getting close to normal?

Fishing is tough right now. They are dropping the lake fast .I'm not a white bass person but talk at the marinas is few and far between. Hope it changes for your visit

There is some crappies out there to be had but the fishing is tough. Fish deep and around stick ups and underwater brush piles.

Thanks for the reports everyone. I had been reading where the crappie was tough. But was hoping the white bass would be picking up.

White bass has not been good at all. You don't see any of them busting the top of the water. The ones you do manage to catch is small.

You guys are sure putting a dampener on my hopes. The 15 thru the 18th is about the only time I can get down there. I am pretty sure we are still coming down. If the fish don't bite I guess we will just be forced to sit around the campfire, relax, have some good outdoor cooking, enjoy the quiet time, and go for a few boat rides. Geeze I will miss work NOT. I will keep watching this thread till we leave Thursday morning. Thanks for replies. Maybe I will run into some of you if you are out and about. Good luck fishing guys
We will be launching / camping at Bo Woods, In a blue/silver/white Ranger bass boat. 150 hp Mercury XR6

Well fish or no fish we are leaving Thursday morning to head down. Looks like weather will be perfect for camping. Hopefully we can catch enough white bass, crappie, gills, or something to fry up for dinner one night. Speaking of gills. I never hear anyone talk about catching them. Are there any nice gills in Shelbyville. I'm talking 7"-12" inchers. We caught a few around some trees one day but they were only about 4 inches long.
Good luck fishing everyone. Hopefully will run into someone from here while we are on the water.
