Heading down with my son Sunday. It's his only break from school and work this year, so we are going when we can.
Reports are showing fish being caught in 14-25ft of water in the bay mouths, but doesn't sound like a lot of action. Anybody got any advice to add to that?
I haven't fished in over a week, but water temp is down three degrees and the level is coming up. I know that is no help to you but since no one else has answered you...
I haven't been since June, but have fished August in past. I wouldn't limit myself to mouths/main lake. I have caught some nice messes in August well back in bays/creeks.

The water levels here on Kentucky Lake have been pretty steady at 357.7 for most of the week. And is supposed to be 357.5 by the end of this weekend. Even with all the rain we had this week, the lake levels have not fluctuated very much at all. The surface temperatures have come down just a bit and are in the lower 80’s.
There has not been a lot of fishing going on this week at Kentucky Lake. It has rained every day this week, and with the threat of heavy rain every day this week, not very many people wanted to get out on the lake in-between the rain showers.
I have not talked to anyone that has gone out to pull crank baits this week. And I have talked with only a few bed fishermen that went out for a short time in-between showers. And they did pretty good for the short time they were out there. They were fishing on structure in 10 to 13 feet of water with their baits almost on the bottom in the middle of the beds. The best bait for the bed fishermen this week have again been straight minnows.
