Perquimans River Bluegills 8 5 2013

The wife and I made it out to the river for a few hours this AM, caught and released a few and kept these for tomorrows supper.Biggest one was 9 1/4 "
Beautiful day , water temp 80 , caught under a bobber using nightcrawlers in 3-4 ft of water

awesome! pretty gills. i love the different colorations. the really light one is a redear, am i right?

Nice catch,as soon as supper is done we are heading out.

I think they were all gills, the color varies with them up this way depending on the catch location , water etc. They are usually much darker colored due to the tannin in the water.

Possiblw, but look at the angle of its head versus the others. it is not the same. i usually catch 1 redear for every 10-20 blurgill, so it very well could be a RE

I enlarged the pic, I don`t see any indication of red at the gill etc.............. Just very lite in color , If I can post an enlarged pic I will.
