This happened to me............well her.
Went out this morning to do a little pulling, day started out ok, well after getting up an hour late. So we, me and the wife, and we get to pulling, and we are catching one here and there. Had a few in the boat and I'm in the front and the wife is steering the boat at the wheel and I bring one right beside her and it is barely hooked and I wasn't thinking and said lip it. Don't know why I didn't tell her to just get the net and dip it. Well you know what happens from here, she touches fish, fish flops, crankbait goes flying and yep in her finger one of the hooks goes. Then the screaming began. It buried past the barb, but was right under the skin and the point was almost coming through. I finally got the hook cut, with a lot of pain to her, when I cut it, it went inside her finger. I knew I had to push it on through so I did, and she wasn't happy about it, but finally got the point through and it took me two or three tries to grab the tip with the needle nose pliers to pull it out. Luckily if didn't bleed much and I put some ice on it and she dried her tears and we kept fishing. She was a trooper. Glad no one was there to witness all that. I will be putting a set of pliers in my boat that cut all the way to the end so I can cut hooks off like this way easier.
I want to thank one of the members on here for pointing us in the right direction to get on the fish today. We ended up with a good mess.
Also, if you have a net, use it!!!!!
