I read that pulling cranks is really effective in the summer...but can trolling with jigs still get it done this time of year? Are cranks more effective now because the crappie are in deeper water and you can cover more ground with them?

I've been catching all i want trolling double minnow rigs.
Is there a trick to trolling minnows this time of year? I rigged up to push jigs this year and don't want to spend the money to buy a bunch of crank-pulling gear if I can still catch a few with my spider rig setup.Quote:

Should be able to catch them pulling bigger jig heads/bodies and almost as fast. Just not a chart to help yet. Try 1/8 and 1/4 oz heads and 3" grubs. Just got to adjust line out till come up with a pattern.
