Well fished YUCATAN again Saturday, the water level is right but for whatever reason the fish just aren't doing anything. NOBODY is catching. The bream aren't biting, the bass, or the white perch. It's got everyone scratching their heads wondering what's going on. I mean even the guys who always catch are coming up empty handed. Oh well I'll try again next weekend, bound to get better.
sorry bout that.....the thing about fishing is, if you don't go, you will always wonder what you could have caught.....better to go.....

Thanks for your report I live 100 miles away and that will save a lot of gas and a bad trip. I haven't heard anything from Old River at Deer Park either and normally when Natchez gauge is between 28 and 32 feet it is good there and around 19 feet at Vicksburg for Yucatan. Maybe the water is falling out too fast and taking the fish with it? <*{{{{<<:dono
Did you see any floating fish? Would think with the water dropping this fast and this late in the year a fish kill would be inevitable
No. Not any dead fish. Tons of yearlings bass, lots of gar and bait fish. I figure that with the water falling out so fast the fish must have pulled out and suspended on the old water channels. Which is the one thing I haven't tried yet. It's on why list of things to try when I go back.
Mississippi board is saying the same thing about their river lakes. Jim
do y'all think that when the waters begin falling slower, the fishing will just be a little more stable?
