I may be looking for a place for my oldest son and myself to dove hunt opening weekend. It looks like I will be too dang busy to get anything ready. Does anybody have any suggestions for a good spot so that boy can have a good first dove shoot?

What part of the state? I don't know of anywhere right now but I'll keep my ears open...

Been seeing lots of doves in town. I wondered if they had a little early migration going on. I like to eat a dove, but haven't hunted them since I've been without a dog. With a decent dawg, a fellow usually can wrangle an invite somewhere.
Hope you find a great spot for the young un.
I don't know about early migration, but I've had 3 batches come off one nest. I think they are just doing some good brood rearing!
I thinking about doing a little hunting out the back door at the bird feeder.
It is only fair. You feed them, they feed you.Devil Icon
Had a young one walking around in the middle of the street one of the offices. I strolled right past it, within 5 or 6 feet and it never flew, so I turned around and walked directly toward it and it took off walking down the street. When I got close enough to bend down and pick it up, it flew. I figure it was storing up its flying energy for september.
