A little fishin........
Late summer is a terrible time for me to get on the water and catch some fish. Deer and duck season are coming and we try to have all the blinds and deer stands ready and food plots planted by mid September. This year is no exception. All ready mowing and clearing the wasp out of the stands and have a duck blind to build next weekend.
I got a break on Sunday and was able to go fishing for a change. Started out at Midway. Water looked good and was not as high as I had expected. 7 am until 11:30 and I caught 2 fish that were under 10". Hope it gets better as the water settles.
Left Midway and drove to a private lake that had stable water. It didn't make a big difference but I did end up with 10 decent fish.
Smallest was 10" and the biggest was 14 1/2". Funny thing to me was the bite. These fish did not hammer the jig, they just picked it up and moved slow with it. Once they got some hook in their lip, the fight was on.
Water temp was 91.2. That may have a lot to do with that "funny" bite.

Nice...Im the same way. Spent this past weekend cutting grass at camp, put out some corn, a few camera's. Gonna plant some turnips the weekend of the August 16th!

Nothing wrong with those , put stock up freezer with fish for hunting camp on the list.

Way to go to plan B when plan A didn't work. Don't quit just make something happen. Congratulations.

Know what you mean. Been hanging around the bow shop a little and been thinking about trimming out a few stand sites for early season.

Good fish Kent. Heck, I'd just call our buddy in Little Rock, tell him what you need done and keep fishing.
