Always knew I had a screw loose...

but was really suprised when I saw this loading up the boat Sat. eve. after coming off Swan lake..

Lodged in the discharge chute of the jetdrive. Luckily it was above the impeller so it just tried to shove it out. Would hate to think of what damage that might have done trying to go through the impeller. :Doh:

Was pleasantly suprised at how easy it all came apart too. Now I just gotta find a 7/16-14 x 2-3/4" S.S. hex washer head bolt...come on Fastenal.

Try Lowes. The carry a lot of SS.

Interesting pics. Never saw the way a jetdrive is built. Looks like a industrial pump of some sort. Lucky you didn't have any damage.

I did Gary. That and Tractor Supply. No go. I'll find one somewhere tomorrow.

Is that from the same area as the screw that I found loose at slabfest? Hope you went over that thing with a fine tooth comb!

Kinda sorta. From the pics you can see there are (4) 10mm flange hex bolts that install from the bottom up to hold the jet housing to the lower unit. That was one of them. I pulled them all one at a time and cleaned/loctited them. $16 for one stinking s.s. bolt from the Merc dealer...can you say "ouch"! I tried to find them all over at the normal places, but either they could get them, but had to order like 50, or they couldn't get the exact one. Even tho't about a regular s.s. 10mm hexhead bolt w/ washer, but the o.d. of the washers won't allow that. Oh well???!!!
