Fishing trip recomendations

Hey guys my Dad surpised me the other day and told me to plan a walleye fishing trip up North. My wife picked Minnestota as the destination because of the scenery. After looking online needless to say i'm a bit overwhelmed. You guys have lakes and resorts everywhere. So any recomendations on which lake, lodge or guide would be greatly appreciated.

We are planning on coming up sometime around the end of June next year. Looking at renting a cabin and a boat (1,100 miles is just to far to drag mine). We are also planning on hiring a guide for at least one day. Planning on 4-5 nights.

P.S. Both Musky & Pike are on the bucket list of fish to catch.

Lake Vermilion. Walleye (natural and stocked-they put about 25,000,000 or so in every year!), northern up to 42", muskie up to 56", smallmouth, largemouth, huge panfish and incredible scenery. 365 islands. 1100 miles of shoreline. Hazards are marked, which is a plus! Tons of resorts to choose from. Much of lake is narrow, so you can always get out of the wind. Been going for 30 years!

My advise is to pick the kind of scenery you prefer, use that to anchor your choice of location. The fishing is good all over the state. Your target species are all pretty regularly available from about the Twin Cities north, including in the Metro itself. You definitely will want to hire a guide for muskies. I suggest hiring one for walleyes, too. Reserve your cabin as soon as possible now, too, many resorts are booked up for next year already.

Between those four considerations you may end up narrowing your choices down to a much more manageable set.
