Chickamauga Lake 7-13-13 ...mixed bag / one more TARP crappie
A nice day to be on the lake Saturday and the fishing was good also - a great combination. The "Chick" continues to be an amazing fishery. My fishin' partner Debbie and I caught fish from 10:45 am until 2:30 and tried to fish for another hour but with pleasure boats all around us it became impossible to fish and the bite really died also. We caught 32 crappie...5 ( small ) bass...7 channel cats...5 yellow bass...2 bream. I guess half of the crappie were keepers but all were released. I managed to catch another TARP crappie at my lucky spot also. It barely made the mark of 14 inches and was caught on a BG Junebug / Pearl Chartreuse slab slayer. We caught fish from 7-22 feet with about 15 feet producing the most fish. Water temperatures were 75-77 degrees. We used jigs and a dozen or so minnows we had left over from Thursday. A little pic heavy here and I forgot to zoom Deb's fish - oops !
