Arkansas crappie fishemen need to step it up I am an ex Louisiana boy who now lives in Arkansas and have been here for ten years I live on lake Erling and fish in both Arkansas and Louisiana but I check the Louisiana board first every time I log on to the crappie .com website this should not be those Louisiana Boys can not out fish us but it seems that they can out talk us with not to much trouble Razorbacks stand up put more entries on crappie .com.

Man I dont know why there is no more activity on the Arkansas board. Seem to have some folks that sign on and make a few post then you dont hear from them again. I am on here just about every day but dont post much if I dont know much. I do wish more would join Crappie.com and join in on the post. Sure would make the site much better.
I couldn't agree more. There have been some attempts to get some juice flowing with cooler weather and fall fishing but the threads don't seem to go anywhere. I'm fishing some almost every weekend either the Little Maumelle River or Lake Maumelle, but haven't found the crappie. Bream have been pretty good.
Gooch -- you'll appreciate this. You know what a bear Lake Maumelle can be when the wind comes up. Man, I was on the north side at the east end of the lake sunday...when the wind came up big time. White caps from hell. 'Twas a slow, long ride back to the marina in a 16 foot flat bottom.
I agree, slab. But, the AR board has never been a huge producer of activity. There is occassional bursts around peak crappie times (e.g. spring), but from what I have seen, the AR board just doesn't have the enthusiasm of some of the other boards. If you look on the main page at the number of posts and threads for each state, you will see that GA, LA, NC, SC, and VA are about the only state boards with loads of activity. Those boards have very dedicated members to that particular board, and most don't even check the main board. I don't see a way to turn the AR board around anytime soon, so just bear with it.
BTW, I hope you didn't end up going Friday afternoon, J. I went for a little while Sat. morning (about 2 1/2 hours) because the wind was supposed to be blowing out of the SW. Needless to say, the wind was blowing right up the pipe. I caught a few down around the 430 bridge. I learned a few new territories to try when the time gets right. The little maumelle creek channel doesn't join the main river channel until it gets on the other side of the bridge (the power plant side). The little maumelle creek runs between the first and second pillar (about 10-12' deep). The third and fourth pillars are in about 3-4' of water. Oh well, I'd better get off of here and do something a little more productive.
I have been a member of this sight for only a couple of months. But, I have noticed that the Arkansas board is checked on by quite a few out of staters. I am looking forward to actually meeting everone at the fall camp.
I agree we should be communicating more. But, I don't think it would be pratical to expect boys from Arkansas to yap as much as those from Louisiana. I have been fishing with them and working with them. They never shut up. (I would have put one of them smileys here. But, I don't know how.)

When Labill first got the Louisiana board started he checked with the North and South Carolina boards to see what they did. What seems to increase posts more than anything is for people to post pictures. And no, they don't all have to be crappie, I post several pictures of my saltwater outings. This is just a thought and it may be worth a try.
BTW, when is the Arkansas get together? I may try to make it up there if I get a chance.
Well got to go now, my arms are tired from all that swinging!:D

Well like the big boys say "dont sling it bring it". Man would love to have some of the cajun crew show for Fall Crappie Camp. Looks like the dates of the camp are Oct 26 thru Oct 31. Shrimp, Crab and Redfish will be welcome in the same oil with the crappie.Quote:

Well not from arkansas but fish it alot. When I signed on I ordered the patch and decal set. A little advertizing of the site. Wear the patch on my life jacket and the decal on my boat. But didn't get what I ordered. I got the patch and bimmer.info decal. I hit contact a couple of times but no reply.
