Just added the 998c HD SI to my boat, I moved the 898c SI that
I had up front to the console. I am adding the Y cable to have a transducer that I can either shoot through the hull or mount it on the transom for on plane depth reading. I was thinking of using the Ethernet to connect these 2 units together but I just cant seem to see enough that it would do for me to go the Ethernet route. I don't wanna add the Ethernet just to be adding it, I was hoping someone could enlighten me to the great advantages of connecting the 998 and 898 together. I either pull cranks, jigs or spider rig from the front when Im by myself. If I have a partner, I will fish off the front on one side and them off the back on the opposite side. Guess I am just trying to justify the adding of Ethernet. After reading, I don't know that it would be of an advantage to me. I do like the waypoint sharing tho, so if I am idling around with big motor and mark a spot, then I could go to the front and drop the TM down and pull that waypoint up on the 998 up front and go back to it to fish it. Am I understanding that correctly ??
thanks
