Merc remote control unit

I recently purchased a 2010 30hp Merc F30ELTP. The engine has the 14 pin circular at the top right aft part of the engine. I assume this is the remote connector.

I apparently need a side mount remote with 14 pin connector. My question is: will any merc side mount with the 14 pin connector work? No help from dealers here unless I buy from them and they install. Bunch of crap.

Don't wanna buy something I can't use.

You can look on I boats. They have an entire parts list on you're motor. Find what the actual part number of you're remote. There will be several motors that run the same remote. As long as the part number matches is will work. Hope this helps.
