weekend weather
How is the cool snap gonna affect the fishing on Sardis this weekend? Wind out of the north. I think because the fish are deeper they will be affected less. At least I hope so because I am gonna try one more time. Too much invested and too addicted!! But man I fear that wind! Or should say I respect it. I know folks that will not go back from having one of those days where the lake showed her bad side. Got those batteries charged and picked up a couple of drift socks to drag when I switch to the bigger motor. Don't want to be embarrassed by coming in with less than a limit. LOL.
One question. What measuring board will the possum cops use to measure? I have a golden rule and had about 9-10 just make 11 inches to about 11.25 or so. I won't keep one that close because I am not sure how they will measure and on what board. I know all boards won't measure the same. Also, do they ever check registrations and insurance forms? I have all that but always in the back of my mind I worry about overlooking something. Fr'instance last week I pulled over to check that I could find my whistle. Of course it was there but I had to see it to be sure. Probably have to look again this week.
See what looks like oliver hardy and a guy about stan laurels size in a tan xpress say hey.

Ms Wardens use the golden rule

If it is close they will usually remeasure on your board. Measure at least 1/4 in past 11 and 12 scribe a line across that. Then don't keep anything that does not cross that line.
-
Putting fish on ice I give em a half inch at least, at Sardis I ain't keeping anything under 12 if I even go back up there this year.

Winds are predicted to be NW, 10-20 for Saturday. Be careful out there.

They use a golden rule. Make sure the mouth is closed, push him firmly against the stop, and squeeze the tail. If its over, throw it in the well. Sounds simple but I see people measure fish wrong all the time.

10-20 mph that equals fish in the river stay off the lake. Otherwise boat at own risk.
-
Weather bug predicts 8-9 mph sat and sun. North and northwest. If so will beach point be better than engineer's point?
-
I wouldnt think either would be bad, use the hig water ramp at Engineers and not much room for a north or west wind to bother you.
