Using The wind to your Advantage/Conway Black Crappie Death From Above
The strong SW/SE winds have been pushing the bait fish to the northern half of the lake. Iv'e been sitting on the shady leeward side of Isolated cypress tree clusters... using the trees as a wind breaker and fishing tight to the trees. Been getting allot of bites in the pockets and under overhanging limbs, some so tight a rabbit would'ny go in and been pullng the jig to the very tip of my rod to stick the bait inbetween the limbs to get into tight places. Over the last four days I have been giving my 10 foot Ozark's a work out and they have performed flawlessly. Trees in 6-8 feet of water have been best fishing just off the bottom a foot. The bait on my pole has been black crappie death from above for me the last few days. After these heavy winds lay down and I can fish more effectively....Watch Out!!! I should be able to turn in some great stringers of Big ole black Crappie. It's tuff conditions out there for sure guys. The wind, trees, snags, and stumps will work you to death. Fished from 6- 10 AM this morning brought 13 home. The bite has been pretty bad for me after 3-4 PM the last few days. Tight Lines...
