Just wondering why in peoples fish pictures it always seems the depth finder is in 2D mode. If you spend $1500 why not leave it in digital HD mode. In 2D mode a blob is just a blob. HD mode leaves nothing to the imagination.

old habits are hard to break
2d has a "cone shaped" beam...easy to keep fish in the beam to continually show the fish echo on the display...

DI has a "thin slice" beam...good for "passing over" structure to identify what the structure is...

2 completely different sonar tools ...to be used for 2 completely different tasks...
