Father's Day Trip
I took my fishing buddy of 25+ years out for a 1/2 day of green trout and crappie fishing in a water shed lake that I manage. We had some cloud cover that hung around in the mid morning allowing us some top water action. We caught a few and lost a few before the sun came out and the bass went deep. I heard a deep throated splash behind me and I knew Ralph had a hit by a big fish. The estimated weight of the fish was around 5 pounds and he did a classic tail walk. The popper shook out of the bass's mouth and came flying back at him. NUTS!! We spent the next 4 hours catching LMB and 13" black crappie on plastic worms and lizards. We wound up catching in excess of 25 LMB, 5 black crappie and 2 "watch bander" bluegills. Not a bad day. Going again Sunday.
