Father's Day
Got to do what I love today...FISH! Thanks to my bride, I got to fish today after doing the Father's Day stuff yesterday. Patrick and I hit Sorrel this morning. It's been quite a while with the high water, rain and such. It's still high....running about 3 feet over normal with lots of water in the woods. Bayou Sorrel itself is chocolate milk and a 7 knot current! Hard to load the boat on a shallow ramp and that much current.
The front half of the Shell cuts is black coffee and clear while the back half looks really good with a tinge of green and not as clear.
Not much biting and only a few boats out, which made it nice. The few I talked to weren't doing much either. It still has to come down some more. Saw a post on Louisiana Sportsman that 2 guys caught 17 bass in Verret with one going about 5 pounds. Maybe should have gone that way, but I hear Crackerhead is dead, too. I don't do much bass fishing although the only thing I caught today was a trophy.

If it would have been after the 20th, he'd be in my aquarium right now. Just couldn't take the chance bringing him in. That's the ONLY thing we caught today. Had a few bites but were few and far between. Still a good day with my #2 son.
Happy Father's Day all you dads!

I enjoyed that, thanks for the post.

I feel your pain with the high water, the ouachita has been on a slow rise for the last two weeks, I think that's shut down the river bite here till conditions change

Happy Father's Day anyway!!!

Looks like a little Kentucky bass to me with the red eye. At least you got to go! Thanks for the report.
