You braver than I am to even try that. Look at it this way, when your done, you'll be in something that YOU BUILT and are proud of
That's quite an undertaking. Please post pics of the progress.
Did that 13 years ago....never again!!! Good luck, and remember...when a sub contractor tells you he will be there Tuesday, be sure to ask which Tuesday....bunch a lyin' jokers, all of 'em! :banghead:biggrin
My brother built 2 houses in Green T. Yes, subs are a pain in the A.
no sub contractors to worry about, just the wife with her disabled self and my son in law. The wife had an accident in Feb that left her without the use of her right hand so she's more of a cheerleader/fetcher than anything, but we are in the dry with plumbing and electric and will start the insulation today after work!
We built ours 8 years ago. Wife took care of most of it. We were really blessed with a bunch of good subs. Very little trouble with them showing up or doing things right. Lot less trouble than 2 neighbors who had contractor running the show for them. Plus saved about 40 grand.
I've built two and really enjoyed it.You have to be firm with subs, you get paid when your finished. Is my motto may give 10% but that's it.
Should be starting the Sheetrock Saturday morning. We are finishing up the insulation tomorrow night. Just unloaded 107 sheets of 12 foot rock, that was a blast. I'm hoping to start moving next weekend, then it's back to fishing!!!
