Kayak fisherman in Louisville looking for Crappie

I am a seasoned Kayak bass fisherman, but I am looking to get into crappie fishing. I have looked through the pointers and all I that already. What I am looking for is a recommendation. On where good boat ramps on Taylorsville, Green River Lake, or Nolin Lake that have good crappie structure within a mile or two.

I can't be paddling all over or else I'll just start beating the bank for largemouth.

I have a basic depth finder and a handheld GPS. So I can go just about anywhere my paddling arms will take me.


I haven't fished for crappie since I was an early teenager. My da sold out boat and I never got to get back out or them. I grew up fishing Grayson and Yatesville lake. Kinda miss those days, thus I want to pick back up on it.

over on Green River there is an old ramp under the 551 bridge that would put you in a good area right off the bat.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. You all really have helped me out. I should be out Friday on the Army Birthday since the Army gave us the day off.

Also on Green there is a ramp in the back of Butler Creek, some call it Mount Carmal . There is a lot of good fishing through out that creek with lots of brush piles and cover.
On Nolin try the ramp at Nolin Estates or Calloway, either one puts you in reach of some good fishing.
