Having to do alot of night fishing due to wife's work schedule/kids. I do alot of catfishing in the river since its close, but I have heard about people fishing white bass under lights. Melvern is a short drive and I was thinking about giving it a whirl. What kind of structure, etc do I need to look for? Any advice welcome.
At Stockton we would find the edge of the river channel that swung into the trees. I would also think fishing over the brush piles on the north side point near the river channel would be perfect.
I am sure you know where I am talking about if not email me, I have caught white bass on that point almost every time I fish it.

I agree. I'd add if you can find a bridge with a good channel and a little current can be good. See um catch a lot from docks on deep down at Beaver lake. Works up here to. If you got a place to plug in or a generator more light the better. Fish will move up and down in the water column. Hot nights they may start busting on the surface on the edge of the light if the shad are really coming. in. Can be excellent.Quote:

Yes, it is a very fun way to catch them in the summer. We've done pretty good under bridges next to river/creek channels. Sometimes over brush, but we normally get them around the channels. Hang on as they can get very thick and depending what lake you hit, you will find, Channels, Flatheads, Wipers, Crappie and Walleye under the lights. Sure beats fishing in the heat if you can stay awake.
Thinking of giving it a whirl in the coming nights. Any more tips?
