Great bait! Maggots are #1, but meal worms are #2 on my list.
Bag worms are another great bait. Grab a few off of a cedar tree and hang on!
They work, also great for catfish. I don't use live bait for gills anymore, but did for years, and would take a bee moth over a meal worm any day.
Are you using just one meal worm/maggot/other worm on a really small hook? Are putting several on the hook? I have seen the Gulp Alive maggots/meal worms. Would these be a good substitute?
