What cordless fillet Knife to buy?

Headed to Canada on the 6th anyone have any experience with the Rapala or Berkley lithium ion knives? ThanksKyle

I just got a rapala and only have used it once. blade is a little stiff for crappie, well see how long it last.

I had the cordless rapala when they first came out. It sucked, barely able to clean 10 crappie without battery peetering out.However, the new ion battery is probably better. Also, if there is a fish cleaning house with electricity get an american angler.I have 2 and really like them.

I have never had a battery powered filet knife but have owned both a rapala and a berkley 12VDC fillet knife. I currently own a berkley fillet knife that was given to me and I would not buy another one it just doesnt have the power to cut through the rib cages when filleting a fish. The Rapala fillet knife worked great for cleaning crappie, walleye, wipes, and pan sized cats, if you got into some of the larger cats you would have problems cutting through the rib cages. If you buy the kit its pretty neat comes with a knife that plugs into a cigarette plug on a car or boat, also includes a transformer that plugs in to 120V AC outlet and has a cigarette lighter plug on the other end, and a adapter that has alligator clamps to hook it to a battery and then you can plug in the knife plug, and a carrying case. You can buy one for around 40 from amazon.

I have the Rapala "kit" that drakewoodie is talking about.I love it.It has worked well on crappie,bass,walleye and smaller catfish.I wouldn't use it on large catfish,but I'm not much of a catfisherman anymore anyway.If you have access to a twelve volt battery or a cigarette lighter then you would be good to go.

I had one of the 12 volts but it was along time ago and it did not have the power I thought it should. I am leaning towards the berkley lithium just really do not want to drop $100 if it is not worth it. Most of the time me we have power but just thought not having the cord in the way would be nice.

if you want to save the100.00 I got crock sticks and a stone you can borrow??

ive got the Rapala with 2 ion batteries, fileted 15 northerns on a half charged battery thn had to piut in new one to finsh the last 3. comes wih 2 sets of blades, I like it works good on crappie.
