Weekend at Lovewell

Went to Lovewell this weekend since it was a 3 day weekend. Wouldn't have thought the wind could or would blow as hard as it did for the 3 days. Saturday fought our way up the lake to Montana creek fished it hard caught 4 crappie and one white. Everyone we talked to said that was the place to go. Sunday same thing battled waves and the calm mer water on the south side was full of "pleasure" boaters, which I have another name for. Found a cove on the north side 3 foot deep water into then it gets real deep 5 foot...lol fished it all afternoon and we ended up with 37 crappie not large numbers but they were all good size smallest was 10 inches. when cleaning them the local warden and sheriff stopped by to check oour licenses all good there. He told us that we were the only people he had talked to that had caught any crappie. Not sure why it's so slow there. Fish we did catch still had eggs and looked to me to be a week or two away....

Hey your worked hard and found fish sometimes that is the key, thanks for the report.

I have yet to get on that Lake but hope to sometime this summer.
