Calling South Louisiana. Looking for speckled trout with a canoe or kayak?

Hi all,

Good evening. First time poster and I have this extreme growing interest in fishing. I watch the show Castin' Cajun and I'm totally hooked- no pun intended:)

Anyway, I plan on hiring a charter somewhere in South Louisiana whether that be at Lake Calcasieu, LSU lakes, Houma area, Lake Pontchartrain or anywhere in between. The problem is that I do not have a boat and won't have one for years and years. So I wanted to ask about trying to find trout with a canoe or kayak in any of the areas down here. Can it be done?
