Degray Lake Cooler Shot for RCC.......And FFA Fish Habitat Update
Dad and I went out this morning and caught a good mess before the lake got too crazy with the water lice. I think we caught all black crappie today, which is normal for us on Degray. We did catch two Arkansas Black Nose crappie, and one of them was the biggest Black Nose I've ever caught (or seen for that matter). Caught them from 10' deep to 22' deep in 15 to 30 feet of water. We stopped on a condo we didn't remember being quite so deep and I had just uttered the words "we probably need to move" when dad said "you've got a bite". Jigs with some chartreuse tipped with minnows seemed to be the winning combination, especially a chartreuse and silver hair jig I had tied. We had to move around a lot today to find them, but it was well worth it. Shortest crappie was over 13" long.

Centerpoint FFA and the Corp. of Engineers met at the Alpine Ridge boat ramp Thursday morning. We placed 48 new crappie condos in various locations between there and "Lost Ramp". I'll have an updated file containing the waypoints ready sometime this week. Btw, most of the fish were caught on FFA & COE Crappie Condos.
Here is a link to a few photos I took of us at the lake.
