I ordered a jig tying kit from Bass Pro this morning, along with an assortment of powder paints, additional marabou, Chenille, thread, and buck tails in a variety of colors.
When I was still in high school -- 20 years ago -- I used to tie trout flies with my dad so I'm not a complete novice but its been a long, long, while!
I'm gonna need lots of helpful advice this summer as me and my boys try to learn to tie our own.

Tony, I just started back at Christmas time after 40 years so you'll do fine. One thing though, you better hide your wallet, debit card & credit card!

Tony, I've found that you can't go wrong tying and getting the kids involved. If you need any buck tails, let me know. Like plateboater said, "hide the cards"! :ThumbsUp

I've already discovered the propensity to over spend. The kit I bought only cost $79.99. I decided to add a "few" things to it that I figured I would need. By the time I was finished the total was closer to $200. :Doh:
I'm looking forward to getting the materials in later this week and getting started tying a few. My boys are pumped about it!
