Thinking about leaving the spider rig at home in the morning and try to catch some bream on the lower lake or Marina area. Anybody have any suggestions or y'all think its worth a shot? I have caught some decent bream in blackwater before but wanna try the dam and lower lake area. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the lower lake, but Sardis must be like Grenada with an almost nonexistent population of Brim. Back in the day I'm sure it was good fishing, but decreasing cover and fluctuating water levels have decreased their spawns and increased their predation.
I'd look elsewhere.

Little further to drive, but Reelfoot brim are about to turn on. Full moon is about the 25th and that should kick it into high gear. Those lilly pads are fun to fish, and they have some hosses there. Get yur self a sack of crickets or meal worms and tear 'em up...
One of the best bream fishing trips I ever took was on Grenada. Was with my grandfather trying to catch crppie, but stumbled into a bream bed up above greysport somewhere ( I was about 8 years old so I am not sure exactly where we were). Caught a big cooler full of bream. Had to go get more crickets at bait shop. Thats been 40 years ago, though!Quote:
