Aint sure what these are,, so ill just call them flying critters! Attachment 125107
Cant decifer the size of the bugs, but look like blind mosquitoes we have here.
A friend saids they are midges after looking at the photo.Spelling may be wrong. When disturbed they swarm and sound like skeeters....
Sounds like the critters. Dont bite just get all over everything.
looks like a may fly hatch. bream will be under that limb waiting for them to hit the water. back off with a bream killer or popping bug and have fun.
Cool pictures of the insects! Were the gills feeding on them?
I dont know.I was fishing a bed nearby and didnt try directly under them.
certainly not trying to tell anyone how to fish but with flying critters this size, a size 12-18 carlisle hook is what dad and i use(d). small yet strong with an eyelet large enough to tie your line onto it.
Midges... They look just like mosquitoes but if you look close you will see a couple of differences. The most visible differences, IMO, are the fuzzy antennae, and the lack of a proboscis (needle-like sucker).
